Everytime when I shutdown my Windows XP Computer I get a message box saying the following " End Program - DvSocket". I then have to click on "End Program" to shutdown the computer. I have reinstalled Windows XP SP1 and Office XP service packs, but the problem still exist.

This is just a stab in the dark. I think DvSocket is
associated with your network. Even if you are not on a
network try this. Open msconfig(start-run-msconfig-ok)and
disable any programs you don't need from starting with
windows (go to http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/ for a list
of what entries you find here actually are). If you are
on a stand alone computer, Use Administrative
Tools/Services in the Control Panel to disable any
services associated with networking. You can go to
www.blkviper.com and click on his Windows XP Services
link for a list which services you need and which you
probably do not. This will also free up some ram. Even if
this dosn't solve your problem it will increase your
computers performance.
