windows security centre

I have Mcafee Security Centre installed on my computer. but for some reason
windows security centre is saying that I have no virus program installed.
Mcafee is up to date, and I have done a scan today. And the Mcafee security
program is saying that I am fully protected. Is there a way that I can fix
windows security centre. I have uninstalled Mcafee and reinstalled it
thinking that it would fix the problem but no joy. My computer is xp home.

McAfee isn't doing what it needs to, to show on that Security Center. You
can ask McAfee for a fix, or you can turn the setting off in the Security
Center Options. I think you can assume McAfee's answer was 'no', they don't
have a fix.
