Windows Search Files and Folders

I'd like to create a shortcut to "Search Files and Folders" thus
avoiding clicking on "Start" "Search" etc. Is there an .exe file
somewhere that runs this nice search engine?
Thanks

Why not use the keyboard shorcut instead? You can start a search
anytime by pressing the Windows Key + F Just as easy as double clicking
an icon on the desktop... let the left pinky and index fingers do the
walking...

Sounds like a great solution but I don't have a windows key - using an
old IBM key board because I like the feel of it. Thanks anyway,
however

.... or right-click on a drive in <My Computer> or a file-folder anywhere
and select "search"

Ahhh, the ol' IBM clickety keyboards, they sure are nice. Ok, well
another 2 click shortcut is: Right-click My Computer and click Search.

Or, open the Search Assistant and do a search then save the search on
your Desktop. If you search for *.fnd the search results are almost
sure to be empty so the shortcut will open Search to a half decent
state. If you want to change the Icon then create a shortcut to the
..fnd shortcut and you will be able to customize it, you can stick the
first shortcut in some other out of the place folder.
