Windows Search Engine Disabled

K

Kermitp

Everytime I start Outlook I get the message that "Windows Search Engine is
Disabled"

Most of the time I can restart it but today I got:

Windows could not start the Windows Search service on Local
Computer.

Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in

a timely fashion.

Any suggestions you might have to fix this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Did you check the services on said computer and make sure that search isn't
set to disabled. The services management snapin is services.msc (e.g.
start > run > services.msc > ok button)
