Windows restarts when selecting hibernate or standby, will not shu

Regardless of what option is selected (Turn Off, Hibernate or Standby) the PC
restarts. Only way to shut it down is power switch. Have tried System
Restore, but problem remains.

do you have an asus motherboard? if you do then it is most likely caused by
ATK0110 ACPI Utility, which you can find in device manager, uninstall this
utility and the driver when prompted, restart your pc and if it asks for you
to install drivers for a unknown device click remind me later, now try to
hibernate etc. this fixed hibernate for me.

Thanks for the reply... as it turns out it was an old Webcam driver that once
removed, the problem went away.
