Windows Picture and Fax Viewer

Ok guys,
recently my Windows P&F viewer stopped working.
And in additon,
I can't see any of the thumbnails.

So some people suggested I type:
rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1
into the run screen.
I get an error message that says something along the lines of
"C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_Microsoft.Wiindows.GdiPlus......\gdiplus.dll is
not a valid windows image. Please check this against your instillation
diskette."

So now I can't look at any of my pictures beacuse I even get this
message while Im in photoshop.

You don't say what operating system you use, and which IE version
