windows picture and fax viewer

Windows can no longer "find" a specified file labeled shimgvw.dll which allows pictures to be viewed. When I do a search, this turns up the file but trying to right click to give this the defalt viewer comes up with and error message. I have even tried to copy another shimgvw.dll file to the system 32 folder but with no luck. Is there more than one system 32 folder?

To restore windows Picture and Fax viewer go to Start > Run and copy
and paste this line
rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1
(supposing C is the drive where Windows is installed)
