Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (WindowsXP)

Can anyone tell me the exact file name and location of
the program that opens the Windows Picture and Fax
Viewer? I have looked through all of the system folders
and cannot find any *.exe that resembles this function.
Also, what program has an icon for *.jpg files associated
with it? I want to change the icon associated with this
file type as it was changed to represent another program
I have installed.

John,

Thanks. I was able to change the icon. I'll wait for
someone to answer the first question that I posted.
Noone seems to know where this program can be found.

that is because it is not a separate individual program.
its either a dll file or built into explorer.

keep your task list open and then open picture and fax viewer and see what shows.

Mikey/Yves,

Thanks for helping me identify the source of the Windows
Picture and Fax Viewer.

I did as you suggested and opened Task Manager. It shows
in the applications as "Windows Picture and Fax Viewer"
and goes to Explorer when "Go to Process" is selected.

The path for Explorer is "C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE".

Yves the *.dll that you mentioned must be called by
Explorer.

Thanks guys,

Jim

This is an old thread but for completion here is the command Windows XP uses to open Windows Picture and Fax Viewer:
Code:
 rundll32.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen %1

Hope this helps anyone passing through this old thread on a search!
