Hey,

Do any of you guys remember the days when windows (3.11 for workgroups, what IS a workgroup?!!) came on floppy disk? Was it 18 disks or something?!

Anyway, how FUN was that to install?!! Always a hoot!

:)

I still have my Windows disks (7 of them). I also have my dos 6.1 and dos 5 disk. But strangely enough, no photos of family and friends. As my dear wife pointed out the other day - perhaps there's a connection Covenant

I still have them to ... yes, 3.11 was called Windows for Workgroups ... 7 floppies the last floppy never seem to be used unless you had an obscure printer ... mine still work. :thumb:

I also have DOS 5, on 5.25 & DOS 6.2 (on three 1.44 floppies) ;)

Windows 95 was 25 floppies :D you could not copy disk one unless you knew how, it was a 1.20 formatted disk (I think) to help prevent piracy. :rolleyes:

Workgroup = network :p

Yes it was a special format and didn't it also have gaps in the data (or something) to fool a straight disk copy?
