I have 2 older computers...one with windows 98 and the other 2000....we
bought the XP upgrade to put on the 98...haven't activated it yet but
will...can i use the sameXP upgrade disk to upgrade our 2000?...the computer
with the 98 windows that was upgraded to XP says that after 30 days the com
may not work if it isn't activated...what will happen to the com with the
2000 version if we don't activate it?

You can use the upgrade on either computer. You CANNOT use it on both.

....You were fast in response...the upgrade has already been put on the 98
com....just curious what would happen if we did put it on the 2000....will it
totally NOT work or will it mess up the 2000 com?.....the problem we are
having with the 2000 com is that we can't get sound...there is a sound card
in it...but not sure if the drivers were accidently taken off...hubby messed
around with it and deleted a LOT of stuff...the sound card used to work...if
I hook it up to the net can i download the drivers to the 2000 to make the
sound card to work?...and where if I can?

It will install on the 2000 computer and give you 30 days to activate, but
don't look for it to fix your sound problems.
You need to determine what type of sound card is in the pc and download the
drivers from the manufacturer's website.

Thank-you Larry...I appreciate your help...Hubby wants me to install the XP
on the 2000 but since it's already on the 98 I'm not goon even try...I
concerned that after the 30 days the 2000 won't work at all...I will take the
sound card out and see who the manufacturer is and go to their website and
hopefully get the drivers I need...Bless you and have a great day!
