Window xp update

My sons computer originally had windows 98 on it. He
upgraded to windows xp that had been previously used. It
said he could use it for 30 days so he wanted to see if
he liked it. It also mentioned that after 30 days it
would restore the computor back to what it was before the
instal. thirty days is now up. Alot of his programs
didn't work on xp so he would like to go back to 98
however the computor did not restore back to 98. He now
cannot do anything. We cannot even get a hold of someone
to help with the problem. Any suggestions or help would
be greatly appreciated.

You can only revert to the previous if the proper selections were made
during installation.
