Windows - No Disc error message

At startup and when I start some programs I get an error window (Windows - No
Disc) with the option to Cancel, Retry or Continue. This message will appear
one or several (10 or more) times - after continuing to select cancel or
continue the message goes away and everything appears to operate normally.

After replacing the hard drive and reinstalling Windows XP PRO, my hard
drive is drive F. Otherwise, I'm not aware of anything unusual about the
installation.

Any ideas what the message is refering to and how to deal with it?
