Popup Screen "WINDOWS - NO DISC"

Several days ago during startup I started getting a popup screen titled
'WINDOWS-NO DISC' . Inside the screen was a circled Red X and the message
'Exception Processing Message C0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c
75b6bf7c' ... and below that three buttons, 'cancel', 'try again' and
'continue'. This happened every time I logged on. Clicking on any of the
buttons produced a loud electronic note, but had no other effect. (I have
Windows XP installed on a Dell XPS 410 PC.)

Someone posting to the thread 'help.wugnet.com/windows/etc' had the same
problem in April 2007 and solved it by keeping a cd in his D-drive. I tried
that, no result, but when I also put a cd in the E-drive, the problem was
solved -- i.e., no more popups.

some software is looking for a cd in that drive, hard to say which from here.
