windows movie maker

I am using windows xp os. I always have used windows
movie maker for my movies until one day it went wrong for
no reason. Everything was fine until I opened movie maker
and found my movies in a very blurry and mosaic little
squares running across each clip. I dont know how that
happened but some1 tells me it may be to do with the
format changing. Can anyone know of this experience and
help me. Im desperate cos the movies were the only
originals I have. Without any success, I have been trying
to get them back to the way they appeared on my digital
video camera (DV pal)Anyone is a lifesaver if they solve
this mystery problem. Is there any hope? thanks.
