Windows Media Player; PlaybackToo Fast

B

Ben

Windows media Player is playing too fast. CD's, Mp3's,
and internet formats are all doing it.

I did a search on these newsgroups but the fixes for
other posts did not work:
- there is no, "view" "enhancements" "playspeed" option.
- I have looked all in the options and settings in media
player and my fx card and found nothing.

I also read about a fix on microsoft, for having problems
with codec files, but it was way too complicated and
didn't help.

Any suggestions. Thanks

In Windows Media Player:
Click the Tools menu
Click Options...
Click the Devices tab
Click Compact Disc
Click the [Properties] button
Under the Playback section, click Analog
Click [OK]
Click [OK]

Check the sound card manufacturer's web site for updated
drivers. Make sure the sound card is compatible with your
Windows version. Check the HCL:

Ah hah! someone else with the same problem as me. Ive just upgraded from ME
to 2k and installed a graphic card (blaster 5) and now all videos and music
is running at double speed its driving me mental. So far ive tried
unistalling/reinstalling the sound and video drivers, heck i even tried
installing 2k again and downloading direct X 9 but nothing works. If you
change media player to analog it can play music okay but whats the point of
that when ive got a hifi plugged into it and i have to stick headphones in
the cd drive just to hear music! Please someone help ive tried all i know or
can mind to try
cheers.

Is your sound card on the Windows HCL?

I dont think so, i cant see it on the list theres a lot of AC97 cards but not
one with the exact same name: "Intel 82801 BA/BAM AC '97". Even though,
surely that wont affect video playback?

Dear Mr. Austin M. Horst,

Still cannot make it. My notebook is acer TravelMate 611TXV and it
definitely design for window 2000. I had try reinstall window, update window
media player, patch to window 2000 SP4, the result still the same. So, is
there anyway to solve it? Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Georgina
