Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD because a problem occurred with digital

Greetings All-

I have searched everywhere and this place seems to be offer the best
solutions for a problem that I've yet to be able to solve.

I'm using Windows Media Player 11 (beta) with Windows XP SP2, and all of a
sudden I receive the message "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD
because a problem occurred with digital copyright protection." when I try to
play a dvd with Windows Media Player.

Everything had been working fine and I haven't upgraded anything recently. I
tried using a restore point and I continue to have the problem. I even rolled
back Media Player 11 to Media Player 10 and same problem continues. I can
play with WinDVD, but I have been able to use WinDVD with a TV/Video Out
whereas MediaPlayer offered that easily (dont know why this is).

Anyway, Microsoft and Toshiba have been useless to solve this. The laptop has
an ATI Graphics cards. I am using Media Player with DVD's I purchased in
North America, and the Regional Code on the DVD player is set to Region 1,
and has never been changed.

I have tried many of the solutions offered here, but no luck.

Any new ideas?
