Does anyone know how to prevent Media Player 9 from
starting automatically when my system is rebooted. I've
checked and there isn't anything in the Startup folder and
can't find anything within the program (Tools-Options) to
turn this option off.

Thanks....

install the startup controlpanel applet from mike lin, and check if
you can find it there.

What I would do is check in the Run keys of the registry. If you see wmplayer.exe in there you have been infected with a coolwebsearch trojan.

Start | Run | regedit | OK

Navigate to:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Select these keys look on the right. It will probably be the last item in the list on the right.
