When I try to run the setup for either Media player 9 or 10, I get a dialog
box stating "Windows Media Technologies This version of Windows Media
Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows. For more
information, view the information at the microsoft web site". When I click to
get more info, the link I get is invalid. I am running XP Professional. I
have zonealarm and Norton Systemworks 2004, if any of that might be the
issue. Meida player 10 was working for 1 day after I downloaded it, and now
neither of them work. It would be super if I could get the media player to
work, since I have a bunch of wma songs that I now cannot access, that and I
miss Napster. Thanks.

Did you make sure you downloaded the XP version?

Are you sure you got the WMP 9 for Windows XP? There is also a version
for Win98/ME/2000. They are different.

FYI: The problem has been resolved. I uninstalled SP2 and all is back to
normal.
