Windows Media Player 11

How do I get the audio back? Just recently, the sound for Windows Media
Player 11 disappeared. I've checked the sound card (all settings correct),
checked the speaker cables (all connected), ran the diagnostic with Device
Manager (everything ok, no conflicts). Everything else on the machine is OK
(no viruses, or spyware).

Using a Dell machine
RAM: 3GB
OS: XP PRO, SP3
