Windows Media Player 11

I cannot get any sound from any commecial DVD video I play on my
Wndows Media Player 11. All Cds, Music etc plays OK. I have downloaded
lots of free codes but nothing seems to fix it. The videos themselves
play but no sound.

Would it help if I removed the WMP 11 and reloaded it?
