Windows Media Player 11

Ian

Each time I run Windows Media Player 11 I get an error message saying:
"Your device is using an outdated driver that is no longer supported by
Windows Media Player. For additional assistance, click Web Help."

Clicking on web help does not help at all. It points to portable
problems like iRiver which I don't have.

What I'd like help with is how to identify the outdated driver and
update it.
Appreciate some advise on this. BTW the OS is winXP with Servicepack 2
and all the updates.

Thanks

Ian

Regarding "...Each time I run Windows Media Player 11 ...." - How are you
"running" the Player - are you clicking on a file which opens the Player -
or do you get the messge when you open the Player directly via it's icon?

If it opening the Player is in response to clicking a file the file is the
problem.

Thanks for the respons AJR.
No the file isn't the problem. WMP plays it either way but the message
keeps popping up. This happens with all other files too. So I assume it
is WMP looking for some driver that is outdated.
If its any help the files are vob and avi ones.

Ian
