I cannot open Windows mail more than once with each start of the computer.
If I try, I get a message to the effect that windows mail cannot be opened
becuase it is already running-- but there is no display showing that it is.
Any suggestions? The operating system is Windows Vista. This is a new
problem and has just started in the last two days.

To verify that it is in fact running after you close the program,
bring up the Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc). Look under Processes
for something named WinMail.exe. Select it, then click End Process.
After that you will be able to restart Windows Mail without restarting Windows.

As to why it continues to run after you close it, we think it is caused by a
non-compatible antivirus program.
