What is the difference between message rules 'do not download from server'
and 'delete from server'? What message will the sender receive in both
cases. Are the messages retrievable at a later date?

When you select 'do not download from server', the message stay at your
provider's site until you delete is somehow, or it ages out. It's still
there so you can access it from WEB mail or other means. When you use
'delete from server', it gone! ...no longer on you provider's site and can
not be retrieved by any means.

In either case the sender will not receive any notice.
