error "Message cant be found"

DacorDave

I havea second problem. I now found that, although emails are downloaded
from the mail server and listed in the messages window showing Sender's Name,
Subject, Date and Message Size, but now all I get is the error message
"Message cannot be found, The contents of this message cannot be found."

So, although I can download messages, I cant read any.

Add this problem with a previous problem of not being able to stop the
constant reloading of recovered emails, I am beginning to think I had better
delete and reinstall Windows mail.

NOT VERY HAPPY BILL !!

That symptom is usually caused by interference from an antivirus
program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons
explained here:
http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tutorials/email-scanning/index.htm

If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading
to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects
from overly intrusive antivirus programs:

Gary,

I am having the same error as DacorDave with "Message cannot be found. The
contents of this message cannot be found."

My question is whether there is a way to restore or re-link the contents of
the message back to the information that is still there. Wouldn't the
contents of the email still be somewhere in the Windows Mail filesystem?

Thanks,
Chester

I have had Windows Mail & Norton Antivirus for a long time. Just out of the
blue I open my mail and there is 2 messages that show "windows mail message
cannot be found". Both the emails are from people that I get emails from all
the time without a problem. When I click on them its blank except for the
message above and it will not mark as read. It stays bold and unread. My
antispam with Norton is off. Please help!
