I cannot receive mail.before I couldn't send or receive.Now I am asked for a USER NAME and PASSWORD.I have done all the fixes I can find on this site.I'm ready to pitch my lap top.This Vista system is junk!

agreed - there seems to be more bugs than programing - most programs released
as betas are more stable than this!

What antivirus are you running? If you've done all the fixes then
I assume you've replaced McAfee or Norton antivirus?

I'm all of the sudden having the same issues........did you get yours fixed??

I went and uninstalled Mcafee and now I have no anti virus and the mail still
isnt working!!! this vista is a joke. What a nightmare. So much down time
spent playing around with this crappy system.

McAfee may have corrupted your mail account.
Create a new mail account with the same settings as the old one,
then delete the old one. If it still doesn't work, copy the error
message and paste it into a reply here.
