Windows Mail - Wrong Account Error

E

Until yesterday, I was able to login to my email with no problems. Now when I
try to login I get a Windows Security box that reads... please verify that
username and password are correct for your mail server. Then it ask for
username and password. Below that is a checked box that says Remember my
credentials. I put in the correct username & password, but it won't accept it.

The first thing I notice is an icon for the other account on my computer. I
enter that email username & password & it works, but gives me access to the
the other account. For some reason I cannot access the correct account.

What's going on?

I have Windows Vista Basic & have not had this problem before.

I, too, got that same message. I was setting up a new computer Outlook. My
husband uses the Outlook, and I access email via the network. Everything
seemed to load fine, then all the sudden I got that message. I tried typing
in the email account id and password for my husband's email, but it wouldn't
accept it. Then I typed in my email account id and password, as I'm the
administrator for the whole account, and it took it.

But what's weirder now, is that both our account's inboxes are combined in
Outlook. Then, when I send a test to my email address, it comes into the
Outlook Inbox and says it's being sent from my husband's address. But when I
try to send a test to my husband's email address, it appears that I'm in the
other user's account, because none of his new emails are coming in. It's
all very confusing, and I hope there is some fix out there.

That type of error is often caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
