Windows Mail Keeps Shutting Down and Restarting

When reading (and downloading) mail from my email service provider, Windows
Mail screen will fade out, an error message will appear, and then it will
automatically restart. I have turned off email scanning by my security
software and it still continues. This all started about 2 months ago. It
persisted for about 10 days and then stopped. Well, it started again about a
week ago. Any help out there??

Which antivirus are you running? Some of them are not fully compatible
with Windows Mail.

Try removing your mail account and then close and reopen WinMail and then
add the account back again and see if that fixes it. Also try compacting
and repairing the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/). If none of those
work, try uninstalling the antivirus software and rebooting (see the section
on Winmail in point 3 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3)
