Windows login...password not recognized

In trying to identify the computer (windows 2000
professional) to make it visible to my home network, I
made myself the admnin. and gave it my normal password,
confimed it and rebooted. Now when I reboot it
says "system could not let you log on." I doubt I could
have typed my everyday password wrong TWICE?! And no
matter what variation I try (yes I tried with caps lock
on) it won't recognize. Short of reinstalling Windows,
can I change the user password without actually logging on
to Windows?

.

At the login, do you see the option to choose Domain or
Local machine? If you created a local user, then you will
need to choose the local machine name when logging in at
home. Or, Windows 2000 will allow you to login with your
domain name as well if you leave the domain name in the
box at the login screen. But, you will need to use the
same password you use at work.

Does that help?
