Windows Load Failure

Eric

Okay, I recently downloaded some themes, logon screens,
and bootup screens from themexp.org. All virus free, and
i used Style XP to apply them.

I applied everything, but as most of u know i have to
apply boot up screens manually. So i backed up my
ntoskrnl.exe, then i booted up in safe mode, and
overwrote the old ntoskrnl with the new custom one. I
reboot after that and it loads the bootup screen just
fine, and when the bootup screen goes to the logon screen
my system just reboots. I cant even see the logon screen.
So i cant get into windows PERIOD. So i load up the
System Repair Utility off the windows xp cd rom, and it
wont let me access my documents directory, which is where
the backup of the ntoskrnl.exe is. So i take out my hd
and put it in a different comp, i replace the customized
one with the original and the original xp bootup screen
loads up, and it does the same thing, reboots when its
done and doesnt even get to the logon screen.

Okay, so i try to get support, i cant because i dont have
a product ID cause i cant access the HD where the problem
is! And my freinds comp that i put it in has used all his
support thingys. System Restore wont do anything for me,
and running Style XP off the other HD wont work because
of issues of its own. So basically i need help! I want to
take all the skins and crap off and bring my computer
back to yesterday!

Help?

can you boot up to safe mode with command prompt?
if so try to run system restore from command prompt.

your computer might also be setup to auto reboot on a blue screen. i have
seen this happen a lot. if you go to system properties, then the advanced
tab, you can uncheck auto reboot if and when you get back into windows.

hope any of that helps. also, for future reference, you should always backup
files like that on floppies. (but i guess you know that now!)
