Today I was deleting some programs that I thought I didn't need. I don't know
where I went wrong, but now, when I try to start either Windows Live
Messenger or Live Mail, I get a message saying "The application failed to
start because the side-by-side configuration is incorrect." I have already
restored my system back to a point where it should work, but I still get
these error messages. The error message also says "see the application event
log for more detail", but I can't locate those logs. I have also tried
repairing these applications, same thing. I tried reinistalling live
messenger, but the installation would not complete after downloading.
