Backup for Windows Live Messenger

When I had Windows XP, I can save the backups of Winks, Emoticons,
Backgrounds and Display Pictures by typing this in search of Windows
Explorer: %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Messenger

I was using Windows Live Messenger 8.1 with Windows XP, BUT now I am using
Windows Live Messenger 8.5 with Windows Vista. How can I save backups of
Winks, Emoticons, Backgrounds and Display Pictures? I tried to use the same
way as before (Above) but it does not work.

Look for them in this folder:

\users\%user%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger\%Live-ID%\ObjectStore

I have tried what you have asked, but it still does not work. Any more ideas?
(Thanks for replying anyway)

Hm... Did you find the ObjectStore folder at all?

You could try to do a search for it in a command line window. In your start
menu search box, type cmd. In the CLI window, type:

cd\
dir objectstore /s

This will produce the path(s) to any ObjectStore folder(s) on your drive.

Hi there
try this location:
C:\Users\%userprofile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Messenger
\[email protected]\ObjectStore

There you should have all the things that you need.
Good Luck :)
