Windows is Stuck coming back from Sleep/Hibernation

Wondering if anybody else is having the same issue or HOPEFULLY knows a fix
to it...

The computer goes to sleep/hibernation without any problems when I tell it
to. However, when I try to resume from the sleep/hibernation, it gets stuck
on the screen saying "Windows is resuming from sleep (or hibernation)..." and
I have no other choice but restart. The only thing that I can do is move the
mouse - no other
key combination works.

I am running a PC 3.2 GHz, 1.5 Gigs of ram, 256 MBs Radeon 6600, 250 G of HD.
The hardware has no problems.

I have consulted one of the "computer techs" that I know, and he says the
issue might be with BIOS. He says that I should have tweaked with it before
installing the Vista.

I really enjoy the sleep feature so, any ideas how to go around to correct
the problem? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks a lot!

I have a new Dell laptop that was sleeping fine running XP, but now when I
resume the keyboard and mouse don't work. The only fix is to power down and
reboot.
I haven't had much time to look at it closer.

Haha,

Sorry, just sounds funny..... my computer used to sleep good on it's XP
mattress, but now, it doesn't want to wake up since it started sleeping on
the Vista mattress...

Hopefully somebody will find the solution...
