Windows is shutting down...

.... no it is not!

I've been trying to fix this problem of the perpetual hang on the shutdown
screen. And I have read many posts and tried many fixes. I think the problem
may lay with the fact that on my Power Options panel I do not have an
Advanced Power Management setting.

What should I do? A BIOS upgrade? $@%$!!!
