"Windows is shutting down" 2 min delay

Ok, I'm working with XPSP2 on brand new dual core Dell 745s. When shutting
down or restarting there is a 2 min delay on the screen for windows is
shutting down, my users are not happy with this. Here is what I have found,
if I disable the Term services service the system shuts down within seconds -
this is not a solution I can use. Is there a fix for this service? I have
run sfc /scannow, tried replacing the term services dlls and other files from
a known good system but have not been able to fix this issue. Any
suggestions or assistance would be appreciated greatly.

Thanks
Dennis

Any advice is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

I think you're a prime candidate for MS's UPHClean program plus their
BootViz. Search the site for them; I'll bet they'll straighten it out for
you.

Thanks for the suggestions. I have the UPH cleanup installed on this machine
- I thought that solved the problem of the long saving of profile settings.
I'll check out bootviz tomorrow and let you know if it helps out

As for shutting down it does not matter if I choose to restart, shutdown or
press the power button and allow windows to gracefully shut down - it hangs
in the same spot inless I disable the Terminalservices service and
unfortunatly I can't leave it that way.

Thanks again for the replies.
