windows installer problem

My windows installer doesn't works properly. Whenever I try to install some application it says either you are running you system in safe mode or windows installer is not properly installed. My system is not running in safe mode. Also I have tried my best to check the problem. My MSI's registry entry is fine. Also I tried to run installer through control Panel> Administrator>services but it says cannot start service in local computer. I have all the rights of admistrator. Now can anybody plz tell me how to resolve the problem

Hi Shekha

have you tried looking at the local policy under admin settings in user configuration. there is a way to controll how the installer works. Is the machine in an AD domain? if so check the domain policy for the same settings

Dear all
Thanx for your support. I have resolved my problem. Only thing I did was I gave permission to everyone for my C: drive. After that everything is fine now. Thanx for your suggestions
