Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service Not working

A

Anonymous

When I try to start the Windows Image Acquisition service under Windows XP I
get the following error:

Could not start the Windows Image Acquistion (WIA) service on Local
Computer. Error 1067. The process terminated unexpectedly.

The service shows up fine in the Microsoft Management Console.

Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening?

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

While in services.msc what is the service set to? Automatic, Manual,
Disabled?

In the meantime, go to Start/Run/Regedit, navigate to this key and set
accordingly:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\stisvc
"Start"=dword:00000004
