it is Kb905474 and it popped up all by itself today but- it seems to be
popping up only for xp pro machines.

I just went on 4 of my clients computers running xp home and I am not seeing
this on any of their machines unless MS is sending out it for xp pro only or
first?

anyone see this on their xp home machines?

Hi Robin...I just checked my WU and it was there for me to download. I have
XP Pro, with SP3..No Vista or WD. JJ.

as said seems either xp pro is getting the updates first or just xp pro
I have now gone on 6 computers running xp home sp3 or xp media center sp3
and NON of them have this update and I went to Windows Update Site to check.

ahhh I was right! it is xp pro only.
I am betting they did this because microsoft is only supporting xp pro till
2014-not xp home
I am wondering if they are trying to phase xp home out

They aren't phasing anything out--but support does end much earlier for the Home products, and other versions based on them, which include Media Center, for example.

Not sure this link will work, but mainstream support for XP Home ends April 14, 2009.

Extended support ends April 8, 2014, though, and security fixes are issued through extended support life.

I don't know how this relates to a WGA update, though.
