Windows freezes

When running an application such as a game or other program using alot of
processor power, my pc occassionally freezes with a high pitch whistle coming
from the speakers.
Can anyone help with this please.
Im using a AMD 3000XP processor, an NVidia GX 5500 graphics card, 512mb ram
and a Creative labs Audidgy 2 ZS sound card.

Try putting a blanket around it and turn up the heat.

Seriously, though, download the latest drivers for your video and sound
cards.
