Windows Firewall Problem

My Windows XP firewall defaults to the "off" mode whenever the computer
is restarted. Each time I have to go into the security center and
manually switch it to "on (recommended)". It stays in that mode until
the computer is shut down and rebooted and then again goes into the
"off" mode. I have done the restore defaults settings but that doesn't
fix it. How can I correct it so it stays in the "on" mode even though
the computer gets shut down. The same thing happens if I click the
restart button...it goes back to "off" when it restarts.

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Are you using any other program, like zone alarm or norton internet
security? Do you have Win XP home or pro? Which antivirus are you
using?

Sorry Taha. I didn't answer fully. I have NIS 2005 antivirus edition
(with firewall) and am using XP Media Center.
