Windows File Protection

This window has popping up on a very regular basis. The
window header says "Window File Protection" and in it
states "files that are required for Windows to run
properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions. To
maintain system stability, windows must restore the
original versions of these files." How can I restore
them? I have the reinstallation CD from when I purchased
the PC from Dell, but I need a serial number. How can I
fix this dilema?

Thanks,
Roy

Hi roy,

In microsoft.public.windowsxp.general you remarked...

I think the serial number you require should be on a label fixed to the
side/rear of the base unit.
