Window's file error

John

my window's 2000 program comes up with a
WINNT/system32/CONFIG setup error when it attempts to boot
up and then it locks up there. Can I install windows
update to fix the problem or will I have to reinstall the
entire windows program? I'm out of state and my original
windows copy is not with me.

Thanks

John,

It sounds like you registry system hive has become corrupt or too large.
There is now Windows Update that will solve this problem. This error is
most often times recoverable from though.

The following URL describes some methods for resolving this issue. They do
require Windows 2000 installation media, so you might have to track one
down to borrow.
