Windows Explorer Status Bar won't stay on

I just downloaded Service Pack 2 and a bunch of other updates yesterday.
Now the Status bar in windows Explorer goes away every time I change folders.
Even when I open the status bar, move to another folder and come back, it's
gone.

I did not have this problem before I updated my computer.

How can I get the status bar to stay visible for every folder?

Open Windows Explorer|View|Status Bar|Tools|Folder
Options|View>Apply to all folders.
