why wont status bar stay put?

I like to have the status bar in explorer showing all the time so I can
select files and check the size.
So I have to click view, "status bar" is there a way to make it stay
visible?

Hi

After enabling View>Status Bar, go to Tools>Folder Options>View and click on
'Apply to all Folders'. Restart Windows Explorer.
