Hi

When you have enabled the Status Bar in Windows Explorer, go to Tools>Folder
Options>View and click on 'Apply to All Folders'.

When you set your status bar to show, instead of "X" out, try:
*File/Close; Or
*Alt-F4

I keep forgetting which of these works, but, one of them does.
Everything on my PC I set to show the status bar currently is still
showing.
