Extract the msvcrt.dll File ,Version 7.0.2600.1106 from your XPSP1 CD.
It is located in CD:-X:\I386\MSVCRT.DL_ [Where X=your CD ROM]
And in your operating system it's located under:-

Do you mean that I need to copy the msvcrt.dll file from
the cd to C:\WINDOWS\system32 annd over write the
existing msvcrt.dll?
So for not understanding, I just want to perform the
correct solution.

Thanks so much
Sherry

I tried your "msvcrt.dll" fix but it is still happeing for me. Well not
exactly, since my issue is only somewhat similar. If I try to open more than
1 folder on the desktop (say My Documents and My Computer) at the SAME TIME,
I get the following error message:

"Windows Explorer ahs encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience> If you were in the middle of something, the
information you were working on might be lost. Please tell Microsoft about
this problem. We have created an error report that you can send to help us
improve Windows Explorer. We will treat this report as confidential and
anonymous. To see what data this error report contains, click here." Then I
have the option od choosing and clicking one of the two buttons: "Send Error
Report" or "Dont Send"

I became so frustrated one night I sat there for an hour and sent over 60
such error reports!

Please. Help?
