Windows explorer opens to C:\Program Files\Common upon computer startup

For the last couple days whenever I turn on my computer, a
windows explorer window
opens up to C:\Program Files\Common. Inside this folder
is another folder called
"Bin" and it has some files in it. I have looked in my
Start menu "StartUp" folder,
and there is nothing in it that would cause this.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get rid
of this annoyance?
I would prefer to not edit the registry, as I have never
done so before, and
I'm not sure how to do it...most likely I would mess
something up if I tryed.

Please give me all your suggestions, this is something I
would really like to take care of!
Thanks!!!!!

The problem is likely an entry in the Registry that uses a long file name,
or path, that isn't enclosed in quotes. Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT
Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

and

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look in each of the above keys for a value that is trying to load something
from this folder. If you find one that uses long file names or paths
(spaces in the name), make sure it has quote marks before and after. Right
click the value in the right pane and select Modify to make changes.

I did as you said, I looked in regedit in the places you
said, and I didn't see anything from that folder that
would be trying to load.....Also, last night I ran Adaware
and all the Norton Ant-Virus scans I could think of, and
none of that helped either.
Do you have any other ideas? I would rather not have to
even think about it, but would reinstalling Windows xp fix
this, do you think?

It's fixed! The explorer window is not coming up anymore!
I'm so glad! Thank you so much for your help! For anyone
who may be having the same problem, here is how I fixed it.

Even though I had done so before, I went into regedit
again, and looked in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersio
n\Run
I saw something I hadn't seen before. There was a value
pointing to something in c:\program files\common files\
that was not enclosed in quotes (" "), so I just enclosed
it in quotes, and now the explorer window does not come up
when I startup!
