Windows Explorer not remembering settings

Explorer just doesn't seem to want to remember the last settings. For
example, when I run it, I have to move the folder view on the left down to
reveal the 'Favourite Links'. Whenever I quit and reload, the 'Favourite
Links' is covered up again!
It didn't used to do this.
Any ideas?

Try moving it to where you want
Then hit little down button that colappses the Folder pane
Then hit the little up arrow which brings the Folder pane back up
Then close Explorer and open it again and see if it sticks. It works for me.
