Windows Explorer : explore/open

Dirk

Hi,

trying out a few tools ended up changing the default
behaviour in Windows Explorer:
When I double click on a map on the rigth side of the
Explorer, it choses "explore" instead of "open" by default.
So now whenever I double click on a folder, Explorer
esplores the folder at the path set by the tool, instead
of opening the folder I double clicked.

Is it possible to change the default behavior of a double
click from "explore" to "open"?

Thanks in advance
Dirk

I used a Tweak tool, can't remember its name though. I had
it undo the implemented changes and uninstalled the
application.

Still it by default, Explorer explores instead of opens..

So, is it possible to change the default behavior of a
double click from "explore" to "open"?

thanx

What do you mean by "map"? Is this a file association issue? IOW
only files with a particular extension? If so, what is the extension
and have you checked the File Types for it?

I would behoove you to always backup the registry in it's entirety
before embarking on "tweaks". Remembering the application or utility
name you used would also be valuable...

Possibly; Explorer|Tools|Folder Options|File Types|"folder"|Advanced and set
the default "Action:" to "open"

Hi,

With map I meant directory, so it's not related to an
extension or association..
As for used tweak tool: WinBoost 4.5.1.
By the way, I did take a backup of my registry now, too
late I know, but I won't have this kind of problem twice.

Dave,

indeed, that did the trick.
Thanks very much for the short follow up!
