Windows Explorer encountered......

I recently came across a problem with my Windows Explorer or My Computer-
Every time I click on one of them to view my files I get the message
Windows
Explorer encountered a problem and must close......
Sometimes I get a Dr. Watson problem. If I click on a folder the computer
freezes up and I have to go into Task Manager to end task.
I've deleted my Temp Files, Temporary Internet Files and cookies.
I've tried AdAware,Spybot and CW Shredder. Smitfraudfix, Killbox, and AVG
Anti-Virus scans along with Trend Micro Scan and Windows Defender.
I can't restore to a previous check point and I've tried all of these
programs in Normal and Safe Mode.
I have Windows XP Home Edition SP2.
Please help-It's very frustrating.
