Windows Explorer Does Not Refresh Always

Recently Folders in Explorer do not always refresh. Instead what happens is
that deleted subfolders remain visible, though obviously inaccessible, but
for some reason Explorer shows multiple DeskTop folders, and/or My Music/My
Pictures folders at the top of the Explorer tree view

Any ideas? I'd like to kill this annoyance. I seem to remember that in
previous versions of Windows there was some setting that controlled refresh
rate

Many thanks

Hi Will,

Do you have the Desktop Toolbar (in the Taskbar) enabled? In some systems,
enabling the Desktop toolband causes Windows Explorer to show multiple
Desktop icons in the folder tree.

Yes. But I will now close it and see what happens. Thankyou. However, I
did have it activated without problem before I upgraded recently from
SP1 to SP2. Is this a purely SP2 issue?

May be the case, but I haven't encountered this problem in my system.

Well. I've been deliberately trying to provoke this behaviour since
disabling the desktop toolbar. No luck. Which is wonderful

Fingers crossed. Thanks again

You're welcome Will.
Let's hope this 'bug' gets fixed in Vista :)

But I want to use Windows Toolbar. Is there any other fix or patch?

Thanks for any help,

Andrea
